Foreign Trade Zone
Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ’s) are restricted access sites that allow businesses to store and process goods, raw materials, or finished product duty and quota free until they are transported into the Customs territory of the United States.  Customs entry procedures do not apply, although FTZ’s are within the territory and jurisdiction of the United States. If the merchandise never enters the U.S. economy, no duties or taxes are paid on said items. US Foreign Trade Zone Logo
Kontane Logistics operates a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) in our Charleston, SC facility that is the only active FTZ in the Port of Charleston. Since FTZ’s are considered outside the commerce of the United States, we can facilitate financial and logistical platforms that create fiscal benefits for your organization, and your clients.
